TB-500
Synthetic Peptide
10 mg lyophilized powder + 2 mL sterile water
Overview
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide based on the active region of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino acid protein found in virtually all human and animal cells. Thymosin Beta-4 was first isolated from the thymus gland in the 1960s and has since been identified as one of the most abundant intracellular proteins involved in cell motility and structural organization.
The synthetic fragment TB-500 retains the key biological activity of the full Thymosin Beta-4 protein, particularly its actin-sequestering capabilities and wound healing properties. Its smaller size compared to the full protein potentially offers advantages in terms of tissue penetration and bioavailability.
TB-500 has been extensively studied in veterinary medicine, particularly in equine research, where it demonstrated significant effects on muscle repair and inflammation reduction. These findings have driven expanded research interest in mammalian tissue repair models.

Mechanism of Action
TB-500 functions primarily as an actin-sequestering protein. Actin is one of the most abundant proteins in eukaryotic cells and plays a fundamental role in cell structure, motility, and division. TB-500 binds to G-actin (globular, monomeric actin) and promotes the formation of F-actin (filamentous actin) structures essential for cellular movement.
Through this actin regulation, TB-500 promotes cell migration via the formation of lamellipodia — sheet-like cellular extensions that drive cell movement. This enhanced cell motility is particularly relevant for wound healing, where keratinocytes, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts must migrate to the site of injury.
TB-500 also upregulates matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), enzymes that remodel the extracellular matrix during tissue repair. Additionally, it has been shown to promote angiogenesis through VEGF pathway interactions and demonstrates anti-inflammatory properties by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine expression.

Handling & Reconstitution
- 1Allow the vial and sterile water to reach room temperature (15–25°C).
- 2Using a sterile syringe, withdraw the appropriate volume of sterile water.
- 3Inject the water slowly along the inside wall of the vial — do not spray directly onto the powder.
- 4Gently swirl the vial until the powder is fully dissolved. Do not shake vigorously.
- 5Once reconstituted, store at 2°C – 8°C. Protect from light.
- 6Use within 28 days after reconstitution.
- 7Do not freeze reconstituted solution.
